WordPress Case Study — Lead By The Word

The story

The situation

Lead By The Word is a personal Christian blog created to enable its founder to share her spiritual reflections and her love of Bible reading.

The goal was simple: create an online space where she could publish her meditations, encourage other believers and build a small community around faith and Bible reading.

The project was part of a drive to create a warm, accessible and inspiring environment.

Context

The customer wanted a personal blog that was easy to use, allowing her to publish her biblical reflections on a regular basis.

She already had a clear idea of the mood she wanted:
a gentle, welcoming and simple blog, capable of reflecting her spiritual sensibility.

The site also had to be easy to administer, so that she could publish her articles autonomously without any technical skills.

Project objectives

The main objectives were:

  • Creating a personal online presence
  • Setting up a simple, accessible blog
  • Enable regular publication of articles
  • Connecting with like-minded readers

Work Realized

For this project, several elements were put in place:

WordPress theme selection

We've come up with a theme suitable for a spiritual blog:
minimalist, legible and reader-oriented.

Building the blog structure

We've organized the site to make it easier to navigate:

  • content-oriented home page
  • items page
  • contact page
  • categories to structure thinking

Visual integration

The images supplied by the client were integrated to preserve the visual identity she wished to convey.

Setting up a mailing list

A subscription system has been installed to enable readers to automatically receive an email when a new article is published.

This allowed us to start building a loyal community around the blog.

Main features

The site included :

  • optimized contact form
  • newsletter system
  • automatic notifications of new articles
  • mobile-optimized responsive design
  • blog structure optimized for reading
simple & warm

Result

The end result was a simple, warm and accessible blog that perfectly matched the customer's vision.

The site offered a pleasant reading environment and facilitated the regular publication of content.

After deployment, the customer chose not to renew hosting the following year, resulting in the site being deactivated.

It's important to note that we had proposed setting up a light monetization system to automatically cover hosting costs (via donations or sponsored content), but the customer preferred to keep the space entirely free and without any commercial aspect.
